Maryland State Police ID 26-Year-Old Father Found Shot To Death In Cambridge

A 26-year-old man affectionately known as "Porky" has been identified by police as the man gunned down in Southern Maryland overnight.

Cambridge resident Virgil Simms was pronounced dead at the scene by Maryland State Police investigators on Sunday night in the 600 block of Pine Street, officials say.

Members of the Cambridge Police Department were called to the scene of the shooting, where they found Simms suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.

The fatal incident is now being investigated by the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit.
